Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with estery notes and hoppy touches. Bitter, roasty flavour with sweet touches of liquorice, lactose, caramel malt and yeast, and some unpleasant heavy metal. Metallic and creamy aftertaste. Reasonable but I'd rather listen to Metallica than taste it.

Bottle, 5.5%. Milky, lactose aroma. Weak coffee. Clear very dark brown colour with a red shine. Very small off-white head. The flavour is quite sweet to begin with. Bready and creamy with a distinct salt liquorice and paper finish. Not great, but sort of different and interesting.

bottle. pours clear brown, but settles pretty black, smooth small light brown head. aroma is nutty, roasted malty, dry, fainter notes of dark caramel and i think licorice. also some dark chocolate. pretty decent for a 5.5% stout, reminds me of the kind of stout you might stumble upon on a pub in england. flavor is slightly sweet, roasted malty, hints of chocolate, a little bit salty, some licorice. pretty tasty too, and lots of flavor, complex flavor for a 5.5% beer. they did add licorice and anise, so the complexity is a bit by cheating but i must say the end result is very drinkable and very enjoyable. perhaps the spices and licorice is a little bit too much in the foreground, leaving not so much room for roasted malty flavors.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours black with a reddish, orange hue and a small, beige head. Hardly any aroma, vague roast. Medium body, sweet roast and chocolate with a vague bitterness. Well made - if not for the missing aroma. 271219
