There is smokiness on the nose with hints of dried fruit. In the mouth it is round bodied, slightly sweet with a light taste of smoke together with hints of sultanas, chestnuts and prunes.

Tap at Bir&Fud (Rome-Italy). Cloudy brown pour, brownish foam. Nose: soft smoked notes, cheesy a bit, dried fruit/raisins. Mouth: quite a bitter overall, watery, anice a bit.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense, dark gold with whitish foam. Aroma gives honey, fruits and a subtle smoky feeling. Body is relatively light with low carbonation. Taste is low in sweetness, but also in bitterness. Nonetheless, the beer is pretty enjoyable, with its delicate smoking. Finish is short.

Bottle in Florence hotel room, 24/09/16. Murky chestnut brown with a beige cap. Nose is smoked malt, candied fruit rinds, light perfume, fruit loaf, light spice, red berry esters. Taste comprises less smokey notes, sweeter malt base, pipe tobacco, brown bread, varnish, toasted brown sugars, quince jelly. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a sweet edge and smokey linger. Ok stuff... could have been a shit shoot but the balance isn’t bad if a little overly sweet.

Süßlicher, deutlich rauchiger Antrunk. Spritzig, trocken herb, dann malziger werdend wobei die Trockenheit zu stark bleibt. Herb, schokoladig. 10/11/8/9//10

Tap @Open Baladin, Roma. Hazy brown, thick offwhite froth. Light smoke aroma, some caramel. Sweetish, caramel malty flavour with mild smoke. Nice and easily drinkable.

Aroma is rather musty with hay and grain. Also mild smoky and leathery tones. Flavour has vanilla ice cream, mild sweet smoky tones and grain. Finishes with mild milky tones. Too musty and sweet, drinkability suffers.
