On tap at Amundsen. It pours a dark brown body and a finger thick beige head. Roasted and hoppy aroma, citrus peel and resin, with a perfumed touch. A bit heavy on carbonation, full-bodied and quite dry. Nice bitterness towards the end, with roasted malts and some coffee-ish butterscotch notes and pears. Lasting bitter finish. A nice beer, but a bit unclean and yeasty. 111014

On tap at the Schous Brewpub, Oslo. This was No1 and not No2 I’m sure!? Clear dark red beer with a good pale tan head. Smooth palate. Smooth darkish malt, creamy with sweet licorice. Well buried sweet berry fruits. Mild banana esters. Very mild coffee. Semi dry finish with a little bubblegum coming through. Quite complex and quite tasty!

On tap @ Amundsen 2011.11.14 Dark amber, almost black body with a moderate tan head. Lovely fruity hop aroma with roasted malt. Flavor is fruity, citric, sweet malty, roast, some caramel and quite bitter. A bit on the sweeter side. OK body, decent aftertaste. Quite nice and pleasant to drink, but some adjustment on the sweet/bitterness balance would make this better.

Tap @ Amundsen, Oslo. This is a deep deep reddish brown beer with a small but lasting creamy and sidesticking light chocolate head. The aroma is nice and yeast-fruity with notes of ripe honey-melon, lots of pear and some apple juice and apple zest. Strange stuff, and not quite as expected. Soft carbonation and it has a medium thick and oily mouthfeel. The flavors are unfortunately totally off. Light infection perhaps? Lots of sour and fruity notes, light roasted soap blended with old dark licorice medicinal tones. Some light roasted and bitter hints towards the finish, but I think this might be a bit off.

Taster, on tap at the Amundsen Bryggeri & Spiseri. Body colour is dark with a deep reddish tint. Filmy layer blanketing the glass. Attractive aroma of ripe fruits and sweet malts. Well blended taste of chocolate malts and red oranges. Dry, bittersweet ending. Very nice (Oslo, 26.09.2011).
