16 oz can from VFM Ogunquit. Unclear yellow, small, fizzy head and light, drippy lace. Grainy malt, some corn sweetness, hints of lemon pledge, and a bit of spice. Solid lager character. Strong carbonation that makes it dance on the tongue. A bit more carbonation than I tend to prefer, but it works well here.

This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a soft hazy golden yellow color with a nice transparency about it. Carbonation rides softly up at a nice pace. Quickly dissipating little white head, soft thin white lacing.
The smell is basically a soft sweet honey biscuity malty goodness.
The flavor leans sweet with a nice grassy sweetness stringing along into the aftertaste. Semi-dry biscuity dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a spectacular sessionable feel to it. Carbonation barely hits my tongue and allows a light stickiness to hit, but still slide for the most part.
Overall, I think it was a nice Helles Lager that I would have again.

16 oz. can purchased at On The Vine. Labeled as Hells yes! Clear piss yellow with lively carbonation. Aroma is sweet grain and toast.
The flavor is clean cereal grain, corn and lager yeast in the finish. The body is light which is normal for the style. Dry texture with a hint of fruit. Zero bitterness. Easy to drink warm weather brew. Very simplistic in nature.

16 oz can from Londonderry Pours a crystal clear light golden color with a smallish white head that despite vigorous coaxing doesn’t last very long. Aromas of light sweet bready malt with hints of fruit and melanoidin. The flavor is crisp sweet bready maltiness with hints of spice and fruit. Light caramelized sugars round this one out. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Not a bad Americanized version, I could drink these.

On tap at the source 8/25/2012. Comes to the table a medium golden color with a smallish white head by the time the waitress sets the glass down. Smells of rich bready sweet honey like malts mostly. A hint of floral hop is there to provide a hint of balance. The flavor is quite malty and sweet with a solid shot of bready almost caramel like pilsner malt that gets slightly balanced with some floral hops. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet malty mouthfeel. Nice helles not the best I’ve ever had but definitely quaffable.

Pours clear gold into a shaker. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Crisp and dry with slight caramel and earthy hops. Abrupt finish.
