On tap at Prohibition Pig Brewery, Waterbury. A dark brown beer with a small, beige head. Coffee grit and notes of dark chocolate in the aroma. Not very complex... That goes for the flavor too, the same coffee grit and dark chocolate, with mocha and a roasted malts kind of bitternes. Full body, quite dry on the palate, with a lasting finish. Overall, quite nice indeed, but sort of one dimensional. 150610

This was poured into a half pint glass at the brewpub.
The appearance was a dark brown color close to black with a bar pour’s kind of slim head and no lacing.
The aroma started off with some sweet cocoa running into some roasty coffee bean.
The taste was basically the same with the oatmeal adding a nice depth of a heavier graininess but not too heavy. There’s a light semi-sweet to roasty aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs light allowing the oatmeal to take the place and being somewhat grainy but not overbearing - hitting just right on my mouth.
Overall, this was a really nice sweet stout with the oatmeal playing a good part not to detract to lead to an oatmeal styled stout but remaining on the sweet side.

Draft at the brewery, 7/4/15
Dark brown color with a small head and almost no lace. Aroma is as expected with the coffee and roast. Oatmeal as well. Good roasted flavor, lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Smooth feel, a hint creamy, and decently dry. A nice beer.

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel and licorice. Taste is medium swet and light to medium bitter with a long roasted, chocolate and coffee finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

New England Bucket List Trip Beer #123. Keg at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of strong coffee, roasted malt, leather, oats. The taste is coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, oats. Medium bodied, mild lingering roast.

Pitch black 1 finger head. Fades to a thin line. Big cold roasted coffee aroma with a hint of malted barley. Black coffee with only a mild sweetness. Thin body, not a lot of creamy notes as expected. More oily. The coffee fades away quickly. Left with not w lot of flavor

Keg at Prohibition Pig - VT. Pours rich brown with a thick, creamy beige head. The nose holds some toasty brown read, dusty chocolate, instant coffee. Nice flavor, some creamy coffee notes, medium sweetness, milk chocolate, soft roast. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Nicely balanced to finish with more simple, sweet and milky coffee, light earthy bitterness, cocoa. Pretty simplistic but tasty.

4.6%. A hazed brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light grassy hops and butterscotch notes. In mouth, a nice sweet bitter chocolate with coffee grind, grassy hops, light mineral notes, OK. On tap at Prohibition Pig.
