This batch has a light brown, almost beige foam collar with nice bubbles, which disappears quite quickly. This gives the beer optimal odor, with a greater enjoyment. Striking mahogany color, darker than the normal amber brown quadrupel. The aroma is very complex and invokes flavor associations of red wine, sweet caramel, alcohol, dried fruit (dates, plum), honey, vanilla, oak and banana. Tasting new flavors will continue to emerge. This batch has a chic flavor with a lot of oak. The alcohol is well balanced with the sweetness and moderate bitterness of this Quadrupel, with the characteristic Quadrupels flavor in the background. Like the aroma, the taste is also very complex. Batch 27 is characterized by a warm and gentle soothing taste and a nice stimulation of the carbonic acid. In summary, this is a characteristic tasting beer to enjoy.

Tasting at Matt's; cork
Dark amber color, cloudy. The arom ais lightly fruity, malty, some alcohol. Medium body strength, shallow beer with light simple malt flavor, a bit fruity, strong alcohol, no bitterness, some barrels, very light sweet wine.
Nothing exceptional here apart from the price.

Bottle - Apple and light raisin. Cloudy copper with a small beige head. Sweet, carbonated and raisin and a nice semi sweet finish. Solid.

Light brown. Thin head. There's some brown sugars, lots of barrel. Thin, but light alcohol, some of those sugar malts, but too thin to really come across well. Probably too hot, and too thin.

375mL bottle, pours a hazy dark amber / mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is complex as hell, with lots of dry red wine, lots of oak, toasted caramel and tannins. Flavour follows accordingly, with loads of moderately dry red wine, followed by toasted caramel and dried dark red fruits. Barrels carry this beautifully. Lovely.

Great deep fruity woody nose. The beer starts deep with grainy parts. Easy to drink, malty grainy with a woody and malty fruity body. Deep dried fruit, rich with wood there and tar. Great deep and dark-fruity woody finish.

375 ml bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with a light head of big bubbles. Aromas of toasted oak, toasted malts, raisins, candi sugar, caramel and a bit of booze. Flavor follow same but a bit plasticy and lacking the body and depth of previous batches.

Bottle (from hetbiermoment). Pours dark brownish with beige head. Aroma is sweet, herbal, sugar, liquor, malt. Flavor is very sweet, sugar, fruits, malt, some sourness, oak, caramel. Body is on the thinner side. Overall: great, one of the better ones from La Trappe oak series.
