Our dark and decadent Baltic porter aged in bourbon barrels with peanut butter and jelly. The lengthy conditioning period in the barrels creates a silky smooth chocolatey mouth feel enhanced by the use of oats and brown sugar. Noticeable sweetness gets balanced by roasted malt and hop bitterness. Additional flavors include bourbon, vanilla, and oak.

Draught at Brewer’s Fork, 7/30/15.
Deep ebony/mahogany with some oily, dark purple tinges on the surface/edges. Head is pretty non-existent. Clarity is low/opaque.
Oddly enough, not my first PB&J beer, having had FB No Crusts. That one wasn’t bad and this one is even better. Very easygoing nose, which is odd because I found the cofffee and Vanilla versions to be heavily, heavily boozey/hot. Instead, you’ve got some very nearly perfectly done bourbon character. Just the good stuff; spice, vanilla, caramel and a candy-like alcohol note. Light notes of rapsberries dipped in vanilla brandy and crunchy peanut brittle notes. I would never peg this as PB&J blind, which is a very good thing.
Flavor is even better than the aroma....crunchy peanut brittle with some light vanilla and chocolate sweetness emerging in the middle. More of a port barrel-flavor to it, in my mind, though maybe that’s the mix of malt, raspberry and what not. Whatever the case, very drinkable for its size, with a very pleasing raspberry liqueur-like dryness/mild tartness. Soft, supple malt texture and not too sweet, with medium carbonation, fairly tight, engaging. Not boozey, which is always impressive at this high of a level. Would love to get a couple bottles all to myself and try it again.

Poured from bottle thanks Airforcehops. Dark chocolate pour with a tan head. Aroma is raspberry caramel vanilla and alcohol. Taste is interesting toasted malt caramel alcohol and a nice after taste of raspberry jelly and peanuts. Very cool. --- Beer merged from original tick of Peanut Butter & Jelly Barrel-Aged Framinghammer on 13 Jul 2015 at 21:40 - Score: 8

Tap at ACBF. Aromas of rich chocolate and brown sugar with yup peanut butter and jelly. I couldn’t drink a lot of this but it was really interesting to try.

Pitch black, half a finer head, some reddish tints at the edges. Nose is lighter and a slightly jammy raspberry and cherry tone but not much. taste, similar to other framing, you don’t get a lot of mouthfeel or thick viscosity. but it does have some roast espresso, chocolate, half & half, I don’t get any peanut butter. this is very boozy, small traces of vanilla and coconut, i do get raspberry but it’s small.

Bottle shared by nmann08 at DC Pre-Thanksgiving tasting. Thanks! Poured a dark brown, almost black color with a small tan head. Aroam was some chocolate, some jelly. Light nutty notes. Flavor was roasted malts, some light peanut butter, jelly, bitter dark chocolate, vanilla, and some woody barrel notes. Interesting.

A lot of barrel here. Dark brown pour. Sweet boozy finish. Roast, with some light jelly. Not getting much peanut, thankfully. Bottle shared by nmann08.

Bottle at the RateBeer DC Tasting shared by nmann08. Black with tan head. Aromas of chocolate, jelly, light bourbon. Tastes of dark fruit, chocolate, jelly, light bourbon and nuts. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation. Kinda weird combination.

Bottle courtesy of Nate, thank you sir! Clear dark maroon brown color. Aroma of slightly boozy and nutty vanilla. Taste is weird herbal acetone, berries come in at the end. Strange.

Pours deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Nutty raspberry aromas. Thick with nuts and caramel upfront turning to fruity raspberry before the hot vanilla alcohol burn finish.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong peanut and booze. Thick mouthfeel wit jammy booze and light peanut butter, oak.
