Bottle shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to LKS, 15/11/23. Black topped with a tan head. Nose is dark malts, chocolate, dates, charr, raisins. Taste comprises chocolate shavings, peanut butter, raspberry jelly, mellow roast, perfume. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Okay if a touch tired ... bourbon hardly evident.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Junction - picked up in the US. Pours clear brown with a foamy, tan head. Medium sweet flavour with rounded semi-dark malts, subdued lightly tangy raspberry/generic berries, touches of chocolate, background impressions of toasted nuts. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately warming to finish, nips of chocolate, berries, earth. Nice stuff all around, quite drinkable for the ABV.

Craft Beer Junction bottle share, thanks to LKS. Almost clear dark brown beer, small tan head. Airy palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Thin dark malts, trace of dark chocolate. A slightly medicinal mid. Decent fruity bourbon on the back end. Not bad, a tad medicinal.
Jammy mostly, nice.

Taster pour on tap at the brewery. Appearance is opaque black with no sparkle, thin ring of beige head with great retention. Aroma is strong jelly. Taste is strong jelly (somewhat medicinal), a little bit of the base porter comes through. Mouthfeel is light bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, the taste is too jelly-dominant, losing the base porter (and I never got the peanut butter).

On tap at Jack's Abby, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma brings out heavy bourbon upfront, followed by peanut butter, but not really any notice of the raspberries. Flavour reveals an exquisite bourbon barrel character upfront, with just enough peanut butter to make its presence felt. Tastes like freshly emptied bourbon barrels. Delicious stuff.

Pours a brownish-black color with a medium khaki head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of bourbon, peanuts, berry and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of bourbon, roasted peanuts, raspberry and malt. The finish is peanut butter and jelly and subtle bourbon. Good beer overall.

500 ml. bottle shared @ RBBSG17. Black, small mocha head. Nose is easy chocolate, cacao, mocha, sweet sugar, cacao. Taste is easy round, didn’t feel 10+ % ABV, mocha, lovely easy, bourbon is barely there, mocha pralines. Less heavy bodied than you would expect. Mixed feeling here, on the one hand it was a very nice but the bourbon was barely there, there were no raspberries & I failed to pick up on the peanut butter, a real shame, still very nice beer.
