26/VIII/17 - 50cl / 1Pt. 0.9Fl. Oz. bottle @ RBBSG17 - BB: 20/V/17 (2017-1328) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!
Clear dark brown beer, small aery irregular head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty roasted, sweet, vanilla notes, lots of chocolate, sugary, caramel, touch of crème brûlée. Not getting peanuts though. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, caramel, sugary, lots of vanilla, malty, some chocolate. Aftertaste: sweet, sugary, chocolate, bit hoppy, bourbon notes, alcohol, soft roast, vanilla. Decent stuff, not getting much peanut or raspberries though...

Sampled @ RBBSG 2017. Dark brown color, decent sized beige head. Aroma is malts, don’t get any bourbon, but there’s a touch of peanut butter. Taste malts, again no bourbon, peanut butter somewhat in there, also don’t get the raspberries. Meh, not a very nice version of this awesome beer imo.

Bottle at RBSG. Pours a pitch black hue with a medium tan head. A big roast and sweet peanut nose. Clear peanut butter sweetness, bourbon, hot, some big sweet caramel and chocolate. Solid.

Bottle at RBSG. Last of the series.Nutty with some fruity notes. Aftertaste starts to resemble the PB&J sandwich of it’s namesake. Interesting.

500ml bottle thanks to Steve. Pours out a dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is jelly fruit sweetness peanut butter chocolate. Taste is more of the raspberry grape jam and the peanut butter.

Pours a dark brown black from a bottle, thin khaki head quickly dissipates. Nose of well-roasted peanuts, smells bitter/burnt. Flavor leans more to the other side of the equation, a little jammy fruit, inexplicably followed by some boozy brown sugary bourbon, with no discernible peanut butter to my palate. Okay beer.

Bottle thanks to AirForceHops: Poured a nice dark brown with tan color head. Aroma is peanut butter and jelly sandwich with roasted malts. Taste is a nice blend of that peanut butter and raspberry jelly, that melds with strong boozy alcohol and smoke.

Draught at Brewer’s Fork, 7/30/15.
Deep ebony/mahogany with some oily, dark purple tinges on the surface/edges. Head is pretty non-existent. Clarity is low/opaque.
Oddly enough, not my first PB&J beer, having had FB No Crusts. That one wasn’t bad and this one is even better. Very easygoing nose, which is odd because I found the cofffee and Vanilla versions to be heavily, heavily boozey/hot. Instead, you’ve got some very nearly perfectly done bourbon character. Just the good stuff; spice, vanilla, caramel and a candy-like alcohol note. Light notes of rapsberries dipped in vanilla brandy and crunchy peanut brittle notes. I would never peg this as PB&J blind, which is a very good thing.
Flavor is even better than the aroma....crunchy peanut brittle with some light vanilla and chocolate sweetness emerging in the middle. More of a port barrel-flavor to it, in my mind, though maybe that’s the mix of malt, raspberry and what not. Whatever the case, very drinkable for its size, with a very pleasing raspberry liqueur-like dryness/mild tartness. Soft, supple malt texture and not too sweet, with medium carbonation, fairly tight, engaging. Not boozey, which is always impressive at this high of a level. Would love to get a couple bottles all to myself and try it again.
