Keg at the brewpub. Pours soupy gold with a small, creamy head. Ripening banana in the nose, some grainy wheat bread. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of banana chips, crisp wheat, hints of citrus. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, moderately phenolic, with more ripening banana, sturdy wheaty sugars. Solid.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a near clear pale yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma combines earthy wheat, slightly sweet straw and a bit of banana. Flavor is similar with more straw and earthy wheat with a bit of banana.

Location: Draft at the brewpub, 5/27/14, as Banana Hammock Hefeweizen

Aroma: The aroma is full of banana and wheat, plenty of spice, yeast, and some clove
Appearance: It pours a hazy yellowish color with a white head and some average lace
Flavor: The flavor here is much the same, wheat, yeast, spice, and a bit of hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average carbonation, and a decent mouthfeel
Overall Impression: This was a solid example of a hefe. I could see why some may not consider it a standout, but for me, it was a pretty nice one.
