Location: 22 oz bottle from a grocery in Ogunquit, 7/11/13

Aroma: An okay schwarzbier nose, dark malts, roast, mild smoke, but not "lobstah" (or oyster)
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a brown head and some lace as well
Flavor: The taste is much the same, dark malts and roast, light sweet, light smoke, no bitterness
Palate: The body of this one is light and a touch watery, clean, with an okay mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Had this one on National Convenience Store Day, will you look at that. Anyway, as for the beer, it's unexciting. I gotta take a point off the overall since, unfortunately, I didn't notice any of what they were trying to get me to see as the main aspect of the beer...

Pours black into a shaker. Creamy tan head with medium retention recedes to coat surface. Chocolate and caramel aromas. Dry with sweet dark caramel and chocolate front to back.

22 oz. bottle with a date of 22 Mar 2013. Lager glass shows a deep brown color looking black in the center. Thin white head. They claim they use lobsters in the brewing process well… I really don’t pick up any of that in the nose or flavor. Flavor is mild roasted grains and earthy malt. Lightly sweet pumpernickel bread flavors with some drying black malts and coffee. Medium body leaning on the thin side. But it’s a lager and it is decent for the style. This is nice if you don’t want a stout on a hot summer day but still want roasted malt flavors.
