Usher in the spring with our traditional German style Maibock (translation; May Bock). German malts, American hops and a touch of honey are masterfully melded to give a robust and enticing pale lager with a pleasant malty and warming finish.

Bottle. Wonderful deep golden color with a slight orange hue and a nice three finger head. Aroma is bread, grains with a slight hint of clover honey. Taste was sweet up front, bread in the middle with a tad of a bitter finish.

It’s brown, no aroma that I can tell. Chewy mouthfeel but nutty oily, licorice, tootsie roll, intense bitterness. Dirt.

Not bad, just not all that maibock-ish, since the honey kinda takes away from the general dry malt character that makes a maibock unique. Instead it comes off as a sweet lager, heavy honey-caramel meeting a floral, appreciably bitter back end. Grows a bit thick as it warms, and the honey dominates throughout. Beautiful pour, though. Bottle. Clear, deep coppery gold body with a white head. Aroma of honey malt and light hops. The flavor is well balanced, light toast malt and enough hop bitterness.
