Scrag Mountain Pils was inspired by the traditional Czech Pilsner style. Our house lager is a tribute to the source of Waitsfield’s town water and the aquifer deep beneath Scrag Mountain.

Canned 4/2/24, drunk 6/19/24. Clear, bright golden-brass-bronze. Large, well-retained, white head. Spicy, snappy, crisp nose. Mineral, toasted baguette and lingering fresh herbs. Clean. Bready, malty, spicy and with a pleasing bitterness on the end. Maybe a bit sweeter and maltier than I'd prefer, but it's clean and the flavors are excellent.

Tap at The Hop Shoppe Staten Island. Unclear golden color with white head. Aroma is grassy, cereals, floral. Taste is big grassy and earthy old school hops, crackery malts, dry finish. Oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very decent benchmark Pils!

Can from AJ's. Rich Saaz-like noble hops, lemony and spicy. Biscuity malt. Bready, herbal, a bit dank even. A bit different character than Czech, but nice nose. Deep gold, medium head effervescent. Big lemon-lime flavor is totally inauthentic for a CZ lager, but still seems continental. Bready malts. Bitter finish. Somewhat minerally as well, which is somewhat strange. I like this but it's not very Czech. Almost more like an IPL.
