Scrag Mountain Pils was inspired by the traditional Czech Pilsner style. Our house lager is a tribute to the source of Waitsfield’s town water and the aquifer deep beneath Scrag Mountain.

On tap at the Thirsty Moose Manchester. Lightly hazy light gold in color with a bubbly white head that persists. Bready crackery pilsner maltiness light floral earthy hops and a touch of stone fruit and maybe a hint of apple. Decent enough beer but not as clean as a Czech pils should be.

12 ounce can. Bright medium gold pour. Ample frothy white head. Fresh malt aroma hints at grain and fresh cut grass. First sip is light grain, honeycrisp apple and biscuit. Notes of lemon zest and honey in middle. Clean crisp and refreshing.

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving soapy lacing. Sourdough and grass aromas. Crisp with sweet hay and grass upfront turning to mild sour earth in the medium length finish.
