Aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months, the spicy and fruity flavors of our beloved Belgian-style Tripel have formed a bold alliance with rich notes of wood and vanilla. Remarkably smooth as it is mischievous, Barrel Aged Tripel Dog Dare will only get better with age…if you’re up for the challenge to wait, that is.

22 oz. bottle. Thanks to AdamC. 2017 vintage. Golden Amber in color. Aroma is dried fruits, mild honey, slight oak. The main flavor character is sweet dried apricot, peach, sugar. Finish has a mild boozy / bourbon to help cut the sweetness a tad. Decent.

Bomber acquired in a trade a year ago. Split 2 ways. Fridge temp but allowed to warm for a bit. Beautiful reddish orange pour, big bubbles that stick around. candied sugar, tangerine, bitter oranges, vanilla, a little bit of wood and bitter candies fill the aroma. Very sweet middle to finish. Not a ton of barrel character in the flavor, lots of sweetness, mild pine bitterness. hard candy, oak tannins, and a little bit of vanilla.

Sample at Bob’s Bar during the "Factory of Sadness Beer Bash!!" on 11/10/2016. The beer is a clear amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of oak, yeast and fruit. Medium to full body with flavors of banana, oaky vanilla, yeast and grainy malt. The finish is fruity and oaky with a Belgian yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
