Poured from 2016 bottle thanks AFH dark chestnut with amber hues and a thin tan head. Aroma is fig, raisin, toffee, bourbon and oak. Taste follows oak, toffee, raisin, fig. Each sip is different as it warms and leaves a warming feeling. Nice brew. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fallen Angel on 10 Oct 2018 at 18:06 - Score: 7. Original review text: Nice.

Bottle shared by Chris on 12/31/17.
Dark amber-ruddy-chestnut with a good clarity and large, rapidly dissipating, beige head.
Nose shows boisterous red fruits, tons of caramel, raisin, toffee, wood and light bourbon-like spice. But the barrel is quite mild, all told, which is fine with me. Very malty, though some toast and light fruit-like acidity does balance.
In the mouth it's soft, malty, full of toffee-caramel-raisin-like English barleywine notes. Light wood tannin, some interesting bourbon and moderate cherry-vanilla-like acidity sit on the finish, balancing gently. Tight, low carbonation and a malty, fairly-well-attenuated texture. Certainly nothing flashy, but solid across the board.

22 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. Color is a brown type color, mild carbonation. Aroma is raisins, prune, sugar, and mild bourbon barrel.
The flavor is forward on the bourbon. Still shows a warm booze finish. Almost a tad of sugar. Medium body with an almost syrupy texture. Ummmm, this still needs some time. If any nerd is reading this, hold your bottle for awhile.
