Draft at brewpub. Pale golden body. Frothy white head. Strong aroma of ginger. More muted nose of toasted grain, lemon, citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly tart. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The ginger dominates both aroma and taste. Light lingering bitterness. Dry, but less sweetness in the finish and less ginger would have given the beer more nuance.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 7/6/12

Aroma: The nose has a lot of ginger, with some Belgian yeast and citrus hints
Appearance: This one pours a clear gold color with pretty much no head or lace
Flavor: The taste is heavy spice and yeast, with a light citric sweetness, and light hop notes
Palate: The body is light, but not particularly watery, with average-plus carbonation, and a spicy finish
Overall Impression: I found this one to be an interesting, heavily spiced Saison. It was for sure cool to try, and in general I enjoyed trying some of the more experimental beers from Maui that they served at the Brewpub.

Approximately 3-4 oz sampler at the Brewpub in Lahaina, Maui. The pour is clear golden, with carbonation bubbles floating to the surface. The aroma is ginger, lemon citrus, and soft Belgian yeast. Wheat grain is also prominent. Big nose. The taste is primarily the ginger and the yeast, though the wheat grain featured a bit more in the finish. The ginger and yeast together are pretty big, but work decently. The palate is medium bodied, a touch mouth coating. Interesting, well done.
