A dark mild inspired by old world pub beers and infused with cold brewed coffee. Appears hefty yet plays light on the palate. Collaboration w/Carrier Roasting Co. This version used Ethiopian coffee.

Tap. Farmhouse Tap and Grill, Burlington, VT. Dark, chestnut brown. Decent, lasting, tan head. Nose has cocoa and nutty malts. Light, vaguely citric fruits. Some notes of coffee bean and grinds. Taste has a light, coffee bean bitterness, tempered with a lactic sweetness. Light body, but nicely silky. Finishes with a soft, tangy bitterness. Good take on the style.

Cask at Three Penny, 7/24/15
Wad saddened to see I had just missed this on tap, only to find out they now had it on cask. Wow, talk about a complete emotional turnaround. Deep mahogany, good clarity/condition with some dark auburn highlights and a tan head that was small and receded to cover fairly quickly.
A mix of fruity, light roasted coffee notes, crunchy, earthy graininess and then a soft, caramel-sweet finish replete with light vanilla and dry toffee. No alcohol or flaws.
Soft, slick texture shows very low carbonation with mild yet flavorful cold brew being balanced by sweet malts (caramel, toffee, raisin flavors). Very gentle acidity from the coffee, with fruity flavors from the roasted beans and brown bread and red fruit flavors from the beer itself. Almost like a mildly alcoholic coffee beverage. With the more flavorful, lighter coffee used, the low carbonation and warmer temperature, it worked phenomenally well. The type of beer that, in the wrong hands, would be a disastrous drainpour. As is, wonderfully well-executed and even if lacking in a ton of beer character, just fantastically innovative and delicious. Would that I were so lucky, I’d drink one of these every morning in place of a coffee.

Cask @ Three Penny. Dark. Pitch black. 2 finger espresso head. The aroma is great. Fresh sugar coffee espresso and chocolate. Smells exceptional. Thin body. Sweet. Good roast qualities. Incredibly light malts with caramel and some wood chips. Slightly acidic. Goes down easy
