A Wild Trippy Tripel

Deep golden color with spicy phenolics, fruity notes, yeast, and clove in the nose. Rich mouthfeel with complex fruity, yeasty flavors and hints of clove with just the right amount of hop bitterness and a slightly sweet finish.

Very faint yellow 2 finger light white head, decent lacing. Sort of a sweet vanilla ice cream pistachio nose but very faint. This is good. Sweet, super yeast-forward, peppermint and bitter orange peel love the finish with cinnamon and caramel

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a very dark orange-amber color with a medium sized foamy off white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy candied pear, pepper and touches of funk and sourdough bread. The flavor was tangy and a touch dry with notes of table sugar, pepper, pear, sourdough bread and a boozy presence. Very long dryish and boozy sugar and pear finish. The booziness moves in and refuses to vacate. Moderately full bodied. Ok.

On tap at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Pours with a crystal clear deeper golden hued body with a small white head that leaves good lace. Aromas are pretty strongly estery with medium-strong ripe banana, alcohol, low phenol (4vg), lightly candied presence, low malt. Isoamyl acetate dominates. Light pepper, a bit sweet smelling. Flavors are boozy, candied ginger, mild sweet, alcohol, lots of banana. Just a bit too sweet to be enjoyable (way too sweet for a classical triplel). Clove and peppery phenol. Boozy, medium bodied, fuller carbonation.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that burns away steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, citrus and spice. Medium body with flavors of sweet fruits and yeast, plus some wheat and malt. The finish is fruity with a bit of alcohol in the background. Decent overall.

On tap. Lemony pale yeller. Has a fading creamy head. No visible co2. Smell is a little sweet and mildly candy like. Strong initial flavors with a weird spice background. Leaves a big bitter feel on the back of the throat. Quite uncivilized like many other usa beldgy trip immoes. Nice lacing on the glass. Bitter rude alky finish.
