An old-style German hybrid ale, brewed using super-heated river stones to boil the sugary wort which encourages kettle caramelization and enhances malt complexity. Stein Alt is golden in color with an interesting toffee-like malt flavor, paired with fruity aromas and balanced by a moderate dose of whole-cone hops. Clean, complex, and amazingly drinkable.

Mills River. Frothy, milky head, clear, copper brew. Brown bread, earthy, minty, slight clove nose. Cheerio sweetness. Barely a hint of clove. Aspirin & citrus rind bitterness. Soft & ample carb. Significant acid. Great texture. Thin body. Liked this.

Very American alt, with an unexpected hoppy bitterness balancing out the bread, apple, and caramel notes from the malt. Not a classic, but enjoyable.

Golden Orange, 2 finger The smell is fantastic. Really refreshing, a german aroma with dense munich and pils. Generously hopped without being overwhelming. the bitterness lingers after the sweetness fades. Has a little honey element to it. banana is here as well. really nice.
