Just-released 375mL bottle shared by Blisscent on 3/26/16, thanks Nelson!
Initially large, white head recedes to cover, atop a bright amber-golden with deeper copper tints. Light to moderate amount of haziness.
Ahhhhh. The sweet, sweet smell of sulfur in the nose. I’m always torn when it comes up, as I absolutely love it in low but noticeable amounts. There’s a lot of old Cantillon gueuzes that have a very similar sulfur character to them and it reminds me of that. Same lemon, lactic and rubbery/leathery brett character with very light woodiness, deep funk and spicy/peppery sulfur. I guess it’s considered a flaw though? I don’t care. The tap water at my mom’s house in Maine is full of sulfur and I hate it. So I’m not sure that you can just say sulfur=always bad, because here I love it. It adds another layer of complexity for me.
Anyways, with that personal rant over regarding my sulfur preference, I found the flavor to be undeniably delightful. No sulfur here and it’s shockingly light, fruity, and moderately citric, with pie crust, biscuit, chewy wheat and soft wood tannin. Vibrant brett tones on the finish deepen the funk, while spicy character emanating from the whiskey are barely noticeable. Carbonation is low and could use a boost of tightness, but the texture is soft and malty-to-tannic despite being nicely attenuated. No alcohol or flaw noted.

500 ml bottle thanks to Nelson. Cloudy yellow. Barnyard, horse blank... nasty, dirty funk.
Funk, rotten fruit, rotten eggs, funky yeast. Very turbid mouthfeel if that makes sense, dirty, unclear. Notes of vinegar in the finish. Damn, this is ruff.

Poured from bottle thanks ClarkVV golden brown pour with a minimal head. Aromas of barnyard sulfur and tart fruit. Taste is funky sour wine barrel but is better than the aroma.

Orange color, sulphur aroma with grapefruit. Thin taste, the sour is too much to me, borderline balsamic with grape skin, nectarine, lemon. Good finish.
