Crowler, ~2 weeks old, shared by AFH on 11/28/15.
Dark black pour, probably opaque, with a small tan head that slowly fades to cover.
Chocolatey roast and light fudge in the nose with buttercream, light raisins and salty toffee. Little/no hop character, with a yeast and vanilla softness on the end. Light diacetyl, but it’s not so problematic and melds with the toffee to give a buttercream character that you often find in dark beers that don’t have any diacetyl.
Bitter roast, dry coffee and lightly sweet fudgey malts are very nicely extracted in the flavor. For 5.4%, this has a soft, supple yet chewy texture and very big flavors, yet is nicely attenuated. Vanilla, toffee, very faint ash and again some diacetyl on the end. Really dosen’t take away much from the beer; this is by no means a butter bomb. Only thing that concerns me is that this is the second Garrison beer I’ve had that’s had apparent flaws, the last one being an IPA I had on draught at WHYM with massive petrol/gasoline character. Still, they can obviously brew and develop very nice, richly flavored, well-textured beers (and Brett Raspbeerience was flawless).

Crowler from the brewery, I don’t know about 2 weeks old? In fridge the entire time. Pitch black very thin lasting head. Aroma shows old coffee beans, mild roast maybe a earthy grain.
Flavor is chocolate, light espresso beans, ale yeast. Mild butter, slightly off, diacetyl. Maybe just a tad off.

Poured from crowler thanks Airforcehops solid black with a beige mocha head. Aromas of chocolate coffee and roasted malt. Taste is thin molasses and chocolate.

32oz crowler. Thanks AFH. Black with a lot of red hues, a small tan espresso head. Just a little bit of roasted nutty pecan aroma. Good taste. Very light, a little chocolate, some sort of chocolate cake and a good burnt coffee taste. a little off flavor but really this is well done. lots of flavor for 5.4%.

Crowler from The Drinkery Derry Solid black color with a huge mocha head that persists forever. Huge chocolate aroma milk and dark with bits of caramel light fruit and earth. The taste again is huge chocolate, rich and luscious with hints of dark pitted fruit, light brown sugar and hints of earthy hop flavor. Light hop bitterness, just enough to keep from cloying and to let the chocolate shine through. Medium to medium thick body light to moderate level of carbonation with a creamy silky velvety mouthfeel. Huge chocolate flavor like a brown porter would have but thick and creamy, I’m a fan!

On tap. Light brown head with trailing lace and mahogany color. A-roast/cocoa-daly malt. T-roast/cocoa/dust-dark malt, fruity hops.
