Enjoyed in Vermont on our 2017 Easter trip with friends. Poured a deep copper colour with amber highlights, a creamy-frothy beige cap, long lasting with creamy lace. Grassy leafs in the aromas, with roasted malts and hints of caramel and spices. Creamy-ish mouthfeel with a dry finish. Bitter tasting of hops which are grassy, lingering with the light caramel malts. A darker malt IPA with more of the darker grassy hops, less piney and citrusy. Nicely brewed.

Bottle had in jacuzzi dark brown pour decent head. Nose is pine and caramel. Tastes of caramel, earth, pine, some grapefruit. Malty.

Bottle on the road in the US. Pours clear, deep amber with a creamy, khaki head. The nose holds light maple, pine and ripening orange. Light-medium sweet flavour with grassy bitterness, oily pine, orange rind, grainy bread. Medium bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly resinous in the finish, with some lightly toasted grains, earth, orange rind. Good stuff overall.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours a slightly hazy brown with a small beige head. Aroma is piney hops, some citrus. Nothing fancy, not strong. Flavor is burnt malt, pine, citrus. This tastes more like an American Strong Ale than an IPA in my book. That being said, it’s not bad.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The bottle is dated 10/25/15.
The appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that roamed around the glass in a fairly thick foamy way.
The smell starts off with bitter resinous pine rolling over some sweet nuts and a little bit of cocoa.
The taste was bitter initially with a rolling nutty sweetness underneath. A dry piney to semi-nutty aftertaste leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a rugged sessionability about it. I say that because of the piney resin and the dryness that comes from it really hits hard on my tongue.
Overall, I see its labeled as an American IPA on here, and I can see how people might think that, but because of the look and some undertones in the smell and taste, I’m pretty sure this is an American Brown ale, its just hopped up a bit more.

Growler from the brewery, copper brown color no head. Light bitterness, pretty weak offering on the nose with a little bit of sweetness. sugary finish like brown sugar almost, maple syrup, tart and overall just very tough to get through.

From tap. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Toasted malty and caramelish. Bitter, toasted and slight breadish. Dry and herbal into the finish.

On tap-offwhite head with trailing lace-amber. A-pine/herbal, 2nd med malt. T-follows.
