Originally brewed in GLBC's Brewhouse No. 1 alongside our friends at Fulton Brewery in Minneapolis, our Baltic Porter recipe calls for some molasses and our proprietary lager yeast, giving it a smooth, creamy feel. A style originally brewed by the countries bordering the Baltic Sea--but we kindly ask that you don’t try and make us name them all.

Rating from offline notes, under the Fulton name. Muddy brown, it looks like muddy water. The coriander is the most prominent flavor and aroma, overpowering everything else. I do not get any maple syrup, in fact the flavor is quite dry. spices, and it is noticeably high in alcohol at 8.7 It made me think of a gruit.

Sample at the brewpub (as "Baltic Porter"). Pours dark brown with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark chocolate, malt and coffee. Medium body with flavors of chocolate, earthy malt and coffee. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt and coffee aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pretty dark black. Honey and roaster nuts on the nose. Almonds? Taste is interesting but not too impressive. Tootsie roll is certainly there. Yeah, more nuttiness and falls flat on a rubbery flavor at the finish

Draft at GLBC. Dark brown pour with thin tan head, some lace. Nose is mostly malt, maybe hints of dark fruit. Flavor is all malt driven with roasted barley. Hints of dark fruits, brown sugar, charred toast. Body is on the flimsy side. Not really displaying big Baltic porter notes, more like a standard porter. Maybe beefing up the body would really improve this. Still alright drinker.
