Bottle at home from Offie & Toffee. Looks great in the glass and on the first sip it had one of the most interesting flavours of toasted malt that I have ever encountered. It was so long and changed and developed as it slipped down. Almost like an echo that fades and gently declines. After a few more sips I lost that and it took on more of a wine like quality with a complexity that was surprising. However, it was extremely rich and even though I was drinking it alongside food, I was struggling towards the end of the glass. The blurb on the bottle says that they have taken the ingredients as far as possible and I do agree with them. This was a beer on the edge, with the ingredients taken to the furrthest extremes of the envelope before it becomes something unpleasant.

Black colored, dark tan frothy head. Aroma is of roasted malt, burnt sugar, some coffee, licorice. Taste is medium+ sweet malt, roasted and coffee, burnt sugar, some licorice, medium- bitterness. Medium+ bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy.

Pours completely black with quite a lot of head. Very nice aroma, chocolate and coffee and some hops are prominent. Medium body. Sweet, rich with lots of caramel. Lots of dark malts with a nice hoppy influence. Coffee and chocolate less prominent in finish. Medium bitter. Awesome Baltic porter, with a bit of a black IPA note.

Bottle. Black body with a massive beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of smoked ham, ash and cranberry. Flavour of liquorice and a hint of smoke. Medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. An unusual beer. I wasn’t expecting the meaty notes, but overall I enjoyed this.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours black with a decent white head. Aroma is liquorice, light coffee, chocolate, ash. Body is medium, decently sweet (especially towards the palate), rather bitter, with a soft carbonation and a smooth texture. Still liquorice, less chocolate and coffee though. Palate is mostly bitter, still rather sweet, but with less flavours. Good!

Botella 33 cl en el Lúpulo Oviedo 29..04..2017. Sin lote ni fdcpref legibles. (r15). Color negro intenso con espuma beige persistente. Sabores cereales y maltas tostadas con toques de cacaos y chocolate suaves. Ligeras lactosa y buena dosis de vainilla. Cuerpo ligero a medio fino y espumoso algo seco y con un suave amargo final algo seco y resinoso bien combinado con el resto de sabores tostados. Tostados más apreciables al calentar junto con cereales rústicos. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda.
