Bottle from a local bottle shop. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, marzipan, infused whisky, wood, sugar, some dried fruit. Flavour is quite sweet with some warming booze in the finish. Above medium body. Too sweet for my taste.

This 33 cl bottle came from a retailer in Belgium. Generally I think barrel aging or infusing improves a Belgian style beer. My opinion. Now we will see how a strong pale ale reacts to it. I have a snifter ready to receive the pour, a dark gold-amber liquid with a generous head of light tan foam. I smell the whisky immediately along with apricots and white bread. A drink is taken, well, this is a bit different. An unexpected amount of smokiness right away (scotch whisky?), wood, apricots again, alcohol, a touch of vanilla and some candy sweetness. Not bad but a distance from great.

Clear red brown beer, big solid creamy beige head, stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of ripe banana, dried fruits, caramel, sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, little oxidized, ripe banana, caramel, dried fruits, nice, gentle roast. Aftertaste: sweet, whisky, some alcohol, soft roast, caramel, sweet notes, a bit nutty.

Light brown colour with thin lacy head. There is some vanilla and caramelised sugars in the aroma. Flavour has caramelised banana and some sweet Bourbon too. Finish is nicely dry.

Süffiger, hellmalzig kräutriger Beginn. Würzig, trocken kräutrig, moderate Herbe, angesichts der 9,2% erstaunlich wenig aromatisch. Gut trinkbar. 10/9/10/9/6/9
