Bottled. Yellowish golden colour with a small whtie head. Aroma is grains, herbs, some toffee and mild earthy tones with some herbs. Flavour is herbal, grassy and some grainy notes. A bit harsh hops to it as well. Cardboard as it warms up.

Golden colour, O.K. head. Buttery aroma. Thin and watery with a faint buttery flavour and a lingering grassy bitterness.

Yay! I finally retrieved the ratings I lost when I dropped my handheld... by getting another handheld. .5 L bottle, rated in St. Petersburg, 6/8/04. Sometimes I feel I’m overrating these Russian beers just because they don’t offend completely, are very cheap, or are kind of refreshing after a long walk. This one will not get that treatment, although it’s pretty much the same. Opens to another lager yeast smell (flash pasteurization?) that detracts from the rest of the beer experience. Color is closer to a pilsener style, so this is close to being okay. But I had a genuine Budweiser Budvar on draft at the St.P airport a week before, and I know what a pilsener should be. For one thing, it should have hops. This doesn’t.

Golden lager color, foamy white head. Light aroma has some sweet malt, metal and hops. Sweet malty body with dry hop flavor. Dry hoppy aftertaste. Decent imitation of Czech pilseners.

A light yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and the flavor metallic. An OK pilsener.

Fresh, slightly doughy. One of the better bottled pale lagers out of Russia.
