Tap. Ours clear deep amber, medium off white head that slowly dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is of caramel, grass, and hay. Flavor is medium sweet caramel, grass, with a light bitter finish.

Bottle. Poured a dark orange brown with a thick lasting white head. Malty aroma, Malty flavour, but not as sweet as one would expect from the label. A lekker hop tinge and a lasting all over the tongue finish.

Sweet with some complexity of flavor that gets lost in the overwhelming caramel. I didn’t hate this beer, but I struggled with its lack of balance. There is plenty of malt in the flavor and aroma with some lightly roasted notes that I wish were a bit stronger. The abv isn’t high enough for the beer to be syrupy or horribly sweet but it tended in that direction for me. The mouthfeel is fine with appropriate carbonation.

12oz bottle. Brownish-red color with a minimal, patchy head. Lots of amber malt in the aroma, quite deep and pungent. Tastes a little past it’s prime to me, but Ambers are odd creatures I suppose. Some off flavors of butterscotch, diacetly bomb. Borderline sour. Not really bad I suppose, just seems like it’s way past it’s prime. Medium bodied. OK at best.

Draft @ Piaci Pub & Pizza, Fort Bragg, CA. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty caramel aroma with some grassy hoppy hints. Sweetish malty caramel flavor with some fruity hints. Has a sweetish malty caramel finish with some hoppy hints in the aftertaste.

Bottle: True amber color with a substantial foamy head and tons of lacing. Aroma is very strong with malts and some earthiness. Taste is full of malts with roastiness, caramel, citrus hops, fruitiness, and hints of sour. Very full of character and a great amber ale.

Draft. Rich dark amber beer with a nice off-white head. Low fruity/cocoa aroma. Fruity flavor (berry/citrus) with backing darker malts - cocoa and slight roast. Good clean flavor that’s more interesting than most ambers.

Bottle courtesy of Irishboy, thanks for one of the many West Coast brews. Pours with a large head in a tulip glass. Aroma is present - all hoppy grassy with orange citrus aspects. Mouthfeel is a bit slimey. Taste is like an expired hop. Low bitterness.
