I like to Oak Barrel Stout from this company but this was my first time trying anything else of theirs. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma is nut, molasses and hops. The flavor is hoppy with your typical red ale sour malt and nut presence. Not bad.

The aroma is very hoppy and sweet. The color is amber and it has a fine head. The flavor is sweet malty giving way to a slight bitterness. An OK beer - but no as good as I expected.

Bottled. Amber colour, rich head. Cookie aroma. Malty and rather soft with a touch of menthol, Aromatic bitterish finish with some toffee. Well balanced.

Amber coloured, nice head. Hoppy aroma. The flavour is filled with floral hop. Long bitter finish (more hops). I really liked this one.

This is a re-rating from a beer I had on Tap at Hero's in Manassas, Virginia. I bought this in a bottle from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia. The colour is a little odd, darker amber and a nice white head which leaves decent lacing behing on the glasss. The aroma is almost purely hops, but that is a very good thing! The taste is pretty balanced, although a bit vinegary--even from the bottle. Good hoppyness balanced with adequate maltiness combined with decent sweetness. A pretty good pale ale, the first time I had it, it wasn't good at all...but this time in the bottle, I'm pleasantly impressed. One to pick up if you are in Washington or Virginia!
