Rated from old notes from the 90s. Creamy head that fades quickly in the canned version; watery body. Dark with a cloying sweet and rich taste. Seems rather flat despite evident carbonation. Accoding to my drinking companion of the time this was originally pitched to women as an alternative to Guinness, but with fewer calories.

Draught@O’malleys, Vaasa (in autumn 2004, one of my first "ratings" from the times we with some friends in summer 2004 decided to have fun and start reviewing beers, little did I know TBone would get me hooked to this site in 2005...). Black colour, white to dirty yellow head. Aroma is roasted, some chocolate, mild spices as well,. Flavour is roasted malts along with a rather bitter and toasted finish. I’d love to get my hands on this one again, as it used to be one of my favourites when I began drinking beer.

Draft, at the "Warsteiner Forum," St. Petersburg. Hey, there’s globalization for you. The Russian barkeep in the dirndl made a well-practiced and patient pub pull. The beer was suitably dark under a tan and lacy head. But it smacked me with that same sour orange taste I got with the Millstream stout. This one tasted more like a bacterial contamination, as in perhaps they haven’t maintained their lines very well.

Sampled draught at Stockholm Beer Festival 2001.
Black with creamy head. Dry, clean, roasty and bitter. Similar to what Guinness has turned into the last few years.
