On tap at apex. Pours a pure black color with a medium white head. A light sweet lactose milk nose. The flavor is big sweet cocoa, milky, light roast. Solid.

Draft at the Source. Aroma is malted milk balls (whoppers) with caramel. Flavor is again the Whoppers candy with a light bitter chocolate malt help balance the candy flavor. Im not sure what is a tad off with it. But other then the thinner body the bitterness is off setting. Not in a Black IPA kind of way either.

On tap at Magnolia, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out nice notes of roasted malt, oatmeal, and subtle coffee. Flavour brings out dry coffee grounds, oats, and roast. Nice and dry, with a roasty, oaty palate. Great stout.

On tap. Pours with a large, foamy brown head that slowly collapses on itself. An opaque black body underneath with some sediment at the bottom of the glass. Aromas are roasty, caramel, diacetyl, coffee, iodine, and licorice. Flavors are of diacetyl, caramel, roast, vanilla, cola. Biscuit, coffee, a touch chalky and smokey in the finish. Pretty dry. Creamy to slightly lively carbonation. Medium dry, a bit chalky. Medium to full body.

(On tap) Completely black and opaque with a light brown head leaving a solid lacing. Aroma of burned malts with a smoky edge. Fairly full-bodied with fat, burned - almost tar-like - malts. Flavours of licorice, tobacco, coffee - the works! Some malty bitterness in the finish. A very rich, rewarding and complex stout. I really wouldn’t call it a Sweet Stout though. 210307

Near black with light chocolate aroma. Chewy, fudgey but a bit harsh on the black malt bitterness. Alcohol creeps in late as well. All over the bloody place.

Draught at the brewpub. Very black. Milky, toffeeish chocolate aroma. Sweet with near full body and mellow mouthfeel. Notes of tar, inky bitter finish. A bit rough around the edges.
