Draught at Loaded Hog, Auckland. So, with 5999 Ratebeer ratings in my luggage I walked in to this brewpub, aiming to find a beer worthy to celebrate 6000 with. I knew it wouldn’t be great the second Iopened the door. To get to the bar I had to wade across the dance floor where drunk middle aged couples were falling around to the sound of the lousiest cover band north of the Antartica, with a noise level that could wake up the dead. Luckily I managed to make it to the bar without my feet getting stuck on the messy floor, and somehow managed to get the bartenders attention through pointing at two beer taps.
The beer came out dark brown with near no head. It had an appley nose and uit was appley, sweetish and thin. The mouthfeel was sharp and clean, and I could sense no hops. Why, oh why did I pick this, the lousiest brewpub in the southern hemisphere to have my 6000th rating?
