This bottle was a long time in my cellar, deciding to try it yesterday for the dinner with a so sunny weather. An almost perfect imperial stout, so smooth, subtle touch of vanilla, bourbon, roasty, syrupy, alcool well hiden, note of chocolate, my god!!!!! 04.10.23

Tap at Salon Piva 04/2022. Malty aroma and taste, chocolate, roastyness, bourbon notes, light sweetish notes, medium bitter. Full body, malty choco bitter finish with warming alcohol notes. Ok.

bottle from beerbay, really nice borurbon malty aroma, much more balanced than rye ris, where rye ris was quite a lot fruity, this one is more beer with a faint dark fruity note, and the bourbon aroma goes really well with the fruitiness, pleasanty surprised i am... flavor is also really good, compared to rye ris, gone is the very fruity tartness, instead we have a solid imperial stout flavor with a fresh fruity touch, and with deep layers of bourbon on wood. The fruits and the wood and the bourbon match up and does something extraordinarily pleasant. really, really nice beer. The wood and bourbon and imp stoutiness in this one is so perfect that i hardly remember anything better. I don't routinely rate beers above 4, but this one deserves to be let into the exclusive circle of insanely tasty beers. Contratulations!

Coffee bean pour with a long lasting ivory foam. Nose: really a charming vanilla and bourbon aroma with hints of spirit and a soft touch of rye. So nice. Mouthfeel doesn’t meet the aroma expectation imo, rye provides a soft start but alcohol is too invasive. Bummer

Bottle I got with some lovely other beers for my birthday. Shared at home. Aroma is in your face bourbon, dark malts, prunes and figs, molasses, maybe some caramel. Big body. This beer really needs to be enjoyed at nearly room temperature for the flavours to really develop. Then you get a beautiful malt backbone with chocolate and coffee from dark malts, as well as fogs and prunes, also some molasses and toffee. The bourbon makes everything a tad richer, and a bit boozy. Quite a bit of wood that I hadn't noticed when the beer was still colder. A really lovely BA impy; I'm biased as I love everything with rye, but this is top notch.
