Once a year, homebrewers are encouraged to send us their best brews. This time was the fourth time we invite a homebrewer to join us and Siren for a collaborative brew. Dave Strachan submitted a beautiful coconut Porter and so we decided to play along on that theme. Brewed with maple syrup and aromas.

Black with a small tan head. Aroma of big fudge, milk chocolates and caramel. Flavour is heavy sweet. Medium to light full bodied with soft carbonation. A little artificial like a lot of Omnipollo but at the same time this is a nice one. Reminiscing of Christmas milk chocolates at my Mum’s place.

0,33l bottle from Alko. BBE 9.1.2022. Very dark brown, almost black beer with small head. Aroma is strong and delicious with roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, maple syrup, nuts and caramel. Flavor continues with same elements. Some small bitterness with coffee is also there, but sweet this is. Alcohol is hiding, but slightly lurking behind the corner. Medium+ body, oily mouthfeel, very good!

Bottle. A- Maple, vanilla cream, coconut, Swiss Cake Rolls, mildly roasty, A- Black color, black liquid, no head. T- Caramel, maple, coconut, chocolate cake batter, subtle char, mild bourbon. P- Full body, slightly creamy texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Picked up a bottle in Munich last summer and have been holding for a bit. Decided to make it 3,800 instead of waiting for rate 4,000. This stuff is what the beer gods drink. I thought Omnipollo Noa was good but this might be a step above. Not to mention, my favorite style. This really tasted like a Little Debbie Swiss Cake Roll and finished like a tootsie roll with the most beautiful maple sugar candy finish. Not overly sweet and very natural tasting. No booziness, all goodness. Probably in the Top 5 beers I've ever had. While I do normally dock a point on appearance for a beer having no head, I can't justify that being the reason I keep this from a 5.
