Once a year, homebrewers are encouraged to send us their best brews. This time was the fourth time we invite a homebrewer to join us and Siren for a collaborative brew. Dave Strachan submitted a beautiful coconut Porter and so we decided to play along on that theme. Brewed with maple syrup and aromas.

Bottle 330ml @ home
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, maple syrup, chocolate, caramel, coconut and alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long very sweet maple syrup, chocolate, caramel and coconut finish. Body is full, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the Siren Tap Yard. Pours black with light head. Big aromas of maple syrup, caramel, chocolate, and soft sweet roasted malts. Flavors follow same but thick, sweet and rich, with additional dark caramel, fudge and graham cracker. Sticky. Can’t get much better for a desert beer. I’ll take a couple of cases please.

semi sweet tons of milk chocolate bourbon, coconut oak. Fully body full on pastry stout. Well balanced

Bottle shared. Pours pitch black with small dense dark brown head. Aromas of sweet maple, vanilla icecream, light coconut, sweet chocolate, fudge. Taste is sweet, fudge, vanilla, chocolate, light heat, light toasted coconut, sweet maple, roasty bitterness in the back. Tastes close to Noa. Subtle difference. Still good though.

Bottle, 330 ml, shared with Miro B and Max. Chocolate, maple, coconut, nuts, quite sweet. Dense. Bitterish finish. Low carbonation. Medium to full bodied.

In der Nase sehr deutlich Kaffee, im Trunk eine Genussexplosion. Kaffee-Crema, Schokolade, Nuss. Je länger der Abgang dauert desto mehr Aromen drängeln sich am Gaumen vorbei. Mal wieder ein sehr extravagantes und sehr geiles Bier der schwedischen Wunderkinder.
