9.2% Bottle from Rakuten. Inky black pour, tan head and a rich chocolate aroma with a touch of roastiness. The flavor is bitter coffee, roastiness and a chocolate finish. A smooth velvety mouthfeel which is nice and thick. A substantial beer which would probably taste great poured over vanilla ice cream. Very nice. Another solid beer from Birra del Borgo. I really wanted to use these bottles for my homebrew but alas it uses a non-standard cap like many Italian craft beers...

Bottle share at Ma Che, Roma, 09/02/13, thanks to Manuele. Label states 9.2% ABV. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is dark fruits, roast malt, brown sugars. Taste comprises roast malt, sugars, molasses, hint of chocolate. Full bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a dry finish. Drinkable RIS but lacking a little complexity to make it a great.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Cloudy mahogany colour, small beige head. Fruity and nutty, medium to full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Mildly coffeeish with notes of caramel and tobacco. Light ashy salty bitterness. It’s greatest assetts are its soft, creamy mouthfeel and broad spectre of flavours.

Black color; thin creamy head. A Stout with a nice aroma, creamy, roasted; but the flavor is less impressive, ordinary, even with a very light infection or fermentation problem. Not bad, but could be better.
