Bottle at Craig’s. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of molasses, dark sugar. Taste is dark sugar, coke, treacle. Finishes sweet, ok.

Bottle, 45cl, shared by nilsas. It pours a decent, finger-thick beige head over a clear-looking brown body. The aroma is lightly roasted, with brown sugar, some charcoal and prunes. Some alcohol sting in the nose. The flavor has a nice roasted, bonfire touch as well as dark chocolate and a faint touch of coffee. Full body with a certain warmth, with a lasting roasted and chocolate finish. A pretty decent one, but far from impressing. 140305

Duft av malt, kaffe, lakris og frukter. Dyp sort farge. Kremet skum. Smak av kaffe, lakris og frukter med en fin ettersmak av lakris og frukter.

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with small brown head. Aroma is vegetables, dark dry fruits, some grains and mild herbal notes. Flavour is very sweet sugar, grass and mild roast. Also maize and some sight grainy notes.

Bottled (PBF, BB 12/2009). Almost opaque brown color, small beige head. Cardboardish nose with light herbal roasty maltyness. Quite light palate compared to 7.5% FESes. Cardboard, light saccarine-molassees, maize. Not very good Guinness.

Thanks Per! Dark brown with a tan head. Oxidized...a bit cardboardy. Some thin roasty-toasty notes. Light sorghum in the finish. Only a little bit of sweetness but not terribly roasty either. Not entirely awful but certainly not an upper-echelon Guinness.

Bottled at Eko Hotel, Lagos. Transparently black, brief pale beige creamy head. Aroma of lingonberry and syrup. Sweetish and medium bodied with fudge and tin as well as fruity pop-corn and cranberried. Completely lacks the filling chocolate flavour of the Nigerian Foreign Extra. Finishes with more tin, blood and syrup. Intensive flavour, but I’d describe it as sharp, rather than smooth.
