Old rating from 08-11-15 - A 750mm corked bottle, 7.5 ABV from the brasserie itself in St Petersburg & poured at home in Jersey. Pours a brown colour with a beige head. Aromas of nuts & caramel. Tastes of dried fruits, caramel & nuts, a hopped bitterness and yeast tones. Overall a very good effort at a Belgium dubbel.

Bottle @ brewpub. Light brown, fairly murky. Generally sweet and lightly fruity, hinting at Belgian roots. A little bit funky, then mellows into a mildly alcoholic, slightly yeasty, fruity beer with light esters. Not very effective beer.

Bottled, from the bewpub. Cloudy brownish amber, rich firm head. Sweet and caramelly with spicy hops and waring alcohol, Some sticky caramel. Rather intense and dense. Peppery alcohol plays a significant part.
