Commissioned, very local 4Pajot beer containing 'witloofwortel', chicory root, for extra bitterness. Tasted at Pajot Ale Land festival, thanks Ama Deke for sharing. Snow white, medium thick, cobweb-lacing, irregular head, lightly hazy 'old gold' robe. Aroma of freshly cut red apples, cloves, dry breakfast cereals, banana, green pear, a vague earthy note I guess referring to the chicory, touch of band aid-like phenols. Fruity onset, sweetish apple, banana and pear notes, medium carb, slick and smooth mouthfeel, white-bready, clean and malt sweet with grassy hop bitter finish only very subtly reinforced by an earthy-bitter chicory root accent, strong (almost medicinal) phenols retronasally as well, clear 'band aid', unfortunately. Overly phenolic blonde, with the 'witloofwortel' remaining very discreet, though this is perhaps a good thing...

500 ml. bottle sampled @ VBF 2017. THX! for sharing Kraddel. Made with Chicory root. Citrus golden, little white head. Nose is extremely chemical, green, vegetable, industrial,... Taste is chemical plastic, sugar, green vegetable, overly chemical, sugar, chemical,... Feels like a poor BE brew where the chicory root adition also went wrong on top,... Body is super chemical, industrial, vegetable, very poor,...

Bottle shared with the brewer. Thanks Raymond! Hazy yellow colour, white foam. Light sweetness in the nose well balanced with the bitterness from hops and chicory roots.
