Brown with a creamy, light beige head. Dark chocolate aroma. Toffee. Almost floral undertones. Taste is very mildly toasted bitter. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Straightforward. Decent.

Getrunken als „Hofmark Dunkel“ mit 5,2 % Alk. (laut Etikett). Dunkles Malz – das ist das alles bestimmende Thema bei diesem Bier. Tolle Aromen von Karamalz und Zartbitterschokolade (durch die Gitter mit zartbitter – frei Bahn mit Marzipan). Rauchige Nuancen sind nicht vorhanden, aber mild röstige fliegen vorbei, Frucht ist zu erahnen. Der Hopfen ist ebenfalls kein großes Thema. Der Körper ist eher leicht. Das klingt, wenn man es so liest, vielleicht etwas eindimensional. In Praxis macht das Bier aber richtig Spaß und es kommt da keine Langeweile auf.

50cl bottle. A clear orange brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark caramelized malt, nuts, melasse. Taste of mid sweet dark caramelized malt, melasse, liquorice.

330ml bottle. Clear, mahogany colour with ruby glimmer and small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, well lacing, off-white head. Slightly roasty, nuttily dark malty aroma, hints of chocolate, a touch of dark bread. Taste is dry, slightly roasty, dark malty, minimally nutty, hints of malt lozenge, a bready and doughy yeasty touch; soft palate.

Bottled, from Biershop Bayern. Clear mahogany colour, mid sized head. Bready nose with notes of syrup and chocolate. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Dark bread, with notes of coffee and chocolate. Slightly bitter finish. Quite harmonious.
