Deep dark copper with a decent off white head. Caramel wood and cherry on the nose. Soured and bitter with a touch of balsamic and cherry. Dry but too earthy for me.

Dark! Aroma is great, not cheesy, yoghurt, sourness, funky. Taste is surprisingly subtle. Light malty sweetness, smooth leathery sourness. Very nice. Soft and easy drinking. Like a session Bon chien with a bit of sweetness thrown in.

Bottle. BFM Degustator Jeandy 10th Anniversary Edition Moeder Lambic Original, bottled october 2016. According to the label this is a typical Bavarian Weizenbock, 12 months barrel aged, blended with some BFM Bon-Chien and with some added Japanese smoked pepper. Color: Dark ruby, stable beige head. Aroma: Lactic sour, dark fruit, caramel. Taste: Moderate to medium lactic sour / tart, soft Balsamico vinegar, dark and red fruit (like cherries, grape, plum, hints of raspberry), some caramel, hints of vanilla and mostly towards and at the finish some spicy, peppery hints. Oak notes. Smooth mouthfeel, wheat malt in the background. Moderate sweet, light to moderate bitterness. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Reminds me of Schneider Weisse Tap X Mein Cuvée Barrique. Nice complexity and balance. I love it.

Bottle at tasting. Red brown pour. Aroma of tart, malt, red fruit, cherry, vanilla, oak and some spice. Taste of cherry, oaky vanilla, wheat, red fruit, vineus grape and oak. Tasty stuff, but I don't get how this is part weizenbock.
