Can from brought back from Kauai enjoyed at home.
Solid dark brown with a decent sized off white head that slowly dissipates. Rich bready caramel with bits of dark dried fruits and a touch of warming alcohol. Pretty good

Super dark brown coloured body with a nice very thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, light grain, a touch of honey, a good deal of nuts and earth with very little else in the nose - very mild. Medium to Full-bodied; Super strong malty bite at first that shows some light chocolate, a touch of nuts, earth, some stone fruits, a light dose of caramelised sugars and a bit of raisins, all with the pervasive yeast showing at the end. Aftertaste shows a bit of the chocolate, some light grain and earthy flavours, all with a lot of the pervasive stone fruit and sweetness showing on top of a layer of strong yeast and alcohol, all with a soft nuttiness and light grainy quality on the very end. Overall, a nice beer with a good yeast profile, and while a touch heavy on the malt side of things, a good option for a Belgian here on the island of Hawai'i. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at Humpy's Big Island Ale House in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i (island) on 03-January-2019, a few hours before leaving the islands.

Medium brown color. Vinious nose with fig, chocolate, plums that is both slightly sweet and tart at the same time. Full body, sweet and tart mouth with good fig, plum, black bread on palate. Not too boozy. Rounded with low carbonation. Good quad

Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Very dark brown, small head. Coffee and brown sugar up front. Sweet with full body and clean mouthfeel. Brown sugar and molasses, some salmiak. Sweet American style interpretation of the style, with less depth, more sweetness and decidedly more brown sugar than in the best examples of the style.

A dark reddish copper ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, smooth peated dark fruits, curacao, light licorice, very good. In mouth, a nice dark sugar malt with licorice, dark fruits, alcohol warmth, reminds me of Gulden Drak. At the REAL gastropub, Zwanze day, Dec. 1 2012.
