Shared can at Mandag i Annen. ABV is 6.9%. Mahogany colour, small head. Both aroma and flavour have a good malt character, but there are also some unwanted hints of lacquer. Too high fermentation temperature? Low bitterness, as expected from the style.

473ml can, 6.9 % abv, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. A sready beige head leaving rich lacing on the glass, next-to-clear copper coloured body. Inviting aromas of toffee and dried fruits. Quite solid taste character of toffee and caramel, added by figs and raisin. Caramel malty finish, hints of fruits as well, mid-sweet. Mouthfilling. Like it. (Tromsø, 23.08.2025).

Mørk brunrød med beige skum. Lukter malt, karamell og tørkede mørke frukter. Smaker karamell, rosiner, svisker.

Bottled. Cloudy mahogany colour, small head. Rich buttery mildly peaty malt aroma. Mid sweet with full body and soft mouthfeel. Velvetty, deep buttery malt. Low bitterness. Mildly warming.

Single bottle from Marché Omni. Pours a dark copper colour with ruby highlights. Big creamy, beige head with good retention and some thick lacing, here and there. Nutty nose at first, but lots of darker fruits come out (dates, prunes) with candy notes of caramel and some weird hop that does seem like it belongs. This does not carry through in the taste, thankfully. A little lighter actually, but better. The grassy finish is better balanced with the caramel malts, roasted malts, raisins and nutty character. Not one I would really have again though.

Bottle: Poured a clear deep amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aromas of candy-like notes are quite sublime with some sweet caramelized malt notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by fruit and candy-like ester which are quite powerful with some great notes of caramelized sugar with some toffee notes also perceptible. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. I really like the yeast strain that was used for this which generated some nice ester as well as the balanced sweetness level.
