(Bottle, 0.33 l, from Alus Celle, 20221021) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, coffee and cocoa powder. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, cocoa powder, ash, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was ashy, burnt and bitter. A tasty burnt brew with chocolate notes.

Bottle at home. Opaque black color, average sized mocha head. Aroma is malts, roasty, chocolaty. Quite nice. Flavor is malts, again roast, chocolate and a bit coffee. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. Very solid imo. I like this one. Nice beer!

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with minimal foam. Aroma is rich, with coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, a little nutty too. Body is average, with moderate tickling carbonation, and oily. Taste is medium-high sweet, but also heavy roasty. Final is long and roasty.

Nice beer. Sharp and dry, yet very balanced and complex and bold. Not perfect, but really opens up nicely when warmer. Bierkonig Amsterdam

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with very late awakening, small, creamy, mostly fading, beige head, some bubbles remain at the bezel. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, couverture, whiffs of orange peel, a minimally yeasty spicy touch. Taste is bitter, roasty, dark malty and bitter, slightly zesty, citrusy fruity, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, hints of orange zest, a yeasty spicy touch of marmite, a touch of vanilla fights against the bitterness to no avail; lingering, bitter, roasty dark malty finish with a touch of burnt coffee, additional zesty bitterness. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. Relatively simple, monotonous, quite bitter- not really convincing.
