Stadsbrouwerij Oudewater wil de Oudewaterse gezelligheid onderschrijven door speciaalbiertjes uit te brengen waarvan de namen afstammen van de historische Oudewaterse brouwerijen. Het eerste speciaalbiertje heet ’t Swaert. In de 17e eeuw de naam van een Oudewatersche brouwerij, welke is voortgekomen uit een huwelijk tussen Gerrit van der Horst en Yda van Gelder.

Tap @ 't Taphuys Utrecht. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and fruity malt. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 140425

Bottle at home, shared by Joes. Clear pale golden color, medium sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, blossomy a bit, herbal, floral. Nah. Not my thing. Don't like it.

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Bready malty and yeasty spicy aroma, notes of caraway, a touch of white pepper, fruity overtones with a touch of apricot purée and honey. Taste is sweet-ish, bready malty, yeasty spicy and minimally fruity, notes of caraway, a touch of honey and apricot, quince. Quite OK.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierloods22', best before July 2021. Slightly hazy, golden with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity-grassy aroma of clove, coriander, some lemon peel and a touch of peach. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently yeasty, moderately fruity-grassy and slightly spicy taste of clove, lemon peel, vanilla and a touch of coriander, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly yeasty-spicy and moderately grassy finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Solid.
