Belgian Style - Strong Ale Regular

ABV: 9.4% IBU: - Ticks: 14
This beer's presence is a noticeable result of a powerful nose that initially imposes its authority, followed by an equally imposing tinged flavor of nobility with a very stylish character. Languid, velvety tones accumulate, with natural roasted malts. There is a definitive, generous largesse to the beer's sweetness, from real cane sugar, with a dark ruby majestic aftertaste. Its status ranks well above beers in its category.

750 ml. bottle, tasting glass @ “2de Bierproeffestival van De Dijleschuimers”. Deep amber mocha, little head. Nose is industrial herbal metallic syrup, artificial caramel, thin metallic syrupy cereal. Taste is thin, metallic, bit watery, slick industrial caramel sugar, very cheap sugar, honey, thin syrupy rubbish,… Overly metallic caramel syrup body. Overprized nonsense as expected to be honest. You are way better of with Waterloo Strong Dark which is actually a decent beer. This one feels a bit killed.

3/X/15 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 2/II/17 (2015-1438)

Clear purple brown beer, small aery off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, sugary, lots of caramel, dried fruits, some chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit fruity, some banana, caramel, bit bready, dried fruits. Aftertaste: some alcohol, soft bitterness, sourish touch, chocolate, more ripe banana. Definitely very Belgian, pretty decent as well. Didn't see that one coming!

At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly head, hazy dark red color with brown hues, aroma of wood, apple and nuts, flavor of caramel, candy and dark honey, quite sweet, very light fruity sourness but nearly enough to balance the heaviness. Drinkable but not really exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at tomer’s place. Thanks Cris. Amber. Aroma of caramel, fruitiness, a bit of cardboard. Sweet flavor with caramel, fruitiness, alcohol. Medium-bodied.
