Citra, with its fruity, juicy aroma and flavour, is one of our favourite hops. To showcase it, we’ve used a simple, yet elegant, malt body which puts Citra’s fabulous tropical flavours on display: think ripe lychee, passionfruit and guava. Sweet and tart, with a gloriously juicy mouthfeel.

As Citra Single Hop IPA, @home poured into a pint glass. Citrus nose. Hazy pale to medium amber, good frothy white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma pale malt, orange, pomelo, passion fruit, faint pine resin. Fruity taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, grapefruit, bit resinous, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, smooth sweetbitter aftertaste, light orange pith, lingering peppery notes, solid IPA, nothing special but very nice.

440ml can at home. How have I not rated this before? Pours a clear amber, which is a change from what has been popular recently, kind of a throwback to 10 years ago when west coast IPAs were the rage. Full hop aroma and flavour, some malt sweet bread backbone.
