Its bitterness flies under the radar as hops create hits of lemon and orange aromas. Double Dry Hop Light Speed is a medium-bodied pale ale that is out of this world.

Featured hops: Simcoe, Amarillo, Ekuanot, Citra & Mosaic

Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium frothy white head that recedes gradually to a film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of piney hops, citrus and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hop, citrus fruits and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lemony hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Can, a couple of weeks out of date. Hazy gold with a fine white head. The odd floatie. Aroma of orange juice, candied lemon peel. Some tropical notes if you squint. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Unexpected depth on the palate with bittersweet citrus, tropical notes, a little bit a toasty edge. Resin and robust bitterness come rolling through towards the end. Again a bit strong for an APA but good.

Mango, passion fruit. Pours golden with good head and lacing, with a few yeast chunks. Big grapefruit smell. Nice stuff. Good body, better than most of these DDH hazies. Pretty nice. Tangerine. Can.

Can (11/14/19) pour from Worldwide Wine & Spirits. Appearance is an opaque, slightly dingy orange-light brown with a few large floaties, trace sparkle at the edges of the glass, 2-finger off-white foamy head with fair retention and minimal soapy lacing. Aroma is citrus, tangerine, baked wheat bread, mild tail end herb. Taste is initially strong herbs, milder citrus and fruit, late biscuity/bready malt. As it warms, more of a melony fruit initially. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation, mild alcohol warmth deep in the stomach and crisp, mostly dry finish as taste with late mild fruit and lingering bitterness. Overall, decent strength and complexity.

Sampled from the tap at Red Cow North Loop. Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has dank citrus and citrus rind with a hint of mango and sweet grains underlying. Flavor has dank citrus, grass and a good amount of rind with a light sweet grain backbone.

Draft at Paragon, 12/27/19. Murky golden-orange, small white head. Grapefruit, lemon, orange. Zesty and grainy. Fairly dry. Something in the close feels slightly dirty. Good, but not great. 7/4/7/3/15

Aromas are mainly citrus and a little bit of pine resin and biscuit malt. Flavors are slightly tart citrusy hops upfront with a little Pine resin and a little bitter to follow. Great body and carbonation. Lingering citrusy bitter finish. Tasty beer.
