Pours deep amber. The aroma is of maple syrup, cinnamon, toffee malt, and vanilla. The flavor is very sweet. Maple syrup leads with malt, cinnamon, fairly mild bourbon, and some booze though the booze is mostly covered by sweetness. Full bodied. Really good.

2023 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a brown with a finger of beige head that dissipates. Big aromas of cinnamon, maple syrup an vanilla with oak and bourbon on the nose. Super thin on the palate but good cinnamon and bourbon flavors throughout. Drying finish with cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and warming bourbon. Not as hot as last years release.

Re-rate: Thirsty Growler, The Colony, Tx 5/8/2024: 3.8 Opaque, dull, dark brown, weak head. Toffee & vanilla. Eggy. Very affogato scent. Smokey, heavy maple, kinda acidic, dark brown malt, toasted marshmallow, French vanilla ice cream. Low carb. Pretty much what I expected. Great in tiny doses. On tap at the Transfer Station Pizzeria in Milwaukee, 2/9/2023; 3.9. Goblet pour. Dark brown with cola highlights & lingering froth. Syrupy, smokey maple nose, apple caramel, cola & nothing else. Bittersweet, leaning bitter. Bold, smokey maple, astringent char, caramel, slightly acidity, whiskey heat, touch of margarine. Thin, rich, fumy & incredibly boozy, very bitter, somehow still approachable. That char makes it great.

Bottle dated Sept. 20, 2022, $5.29 at HyVee, Ankeny. Ah, maple is always a toss-up in beer. This is kind of on the edge of enjoyable, with strong maple, cinnamon, Belgian waffle malt. I think even some butter. Looks fine: a deep brown with red highlights. A big, yet fizzy brown head that dwindles to a thin layer. Taste matches the smell: lots of maple and cinnamon. Kind of overwhelming.

12oz bottle from my brother.efium brown pour, spotty beige head. Aroma hits from the opening of the bottle. Maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon. Taste brings forth the malts and the ABV, then vanilla, then maple, cinnamon subsides a bit. Nice version of this classic
