Tasting glass @ Van Moll. Dark brown amber, creamy tanned head. Nose is licorice, actually get some gingerbread which is quite nice but why the heavy licorice & bay leaf? Taste is so much licorice, licorice really ruins it, you get some nice gingerbread but its overwhelmed by the licorice, bay leaf, kitchen spices,... Still decent. Body is really thick amber, caramel & obv. too heavy licorice.

Draught @ Van Moll Brewpub. Hazy dark red-brown color with a small off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, sweetness, gingerbread I guess, (Dutch) "taaitaai", lightly (Dutch) "speculaas", herbs or spices. A bit thinnish body for a quad I’d say, medium carbonation. Hmm not my thing.
